Drift Terms and End User License Agreement
Effective: May 21, 2026
These Terms and End User License Agreement (“Terms”) apply to Drift, the macOS app available from drifttimer.com, and to the Drift website. By downloading, installing, purchasing, or using Drift, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use Drift.
Summary
Drift is a quiet macOS menu-bar timer that can fade audio and brightness, then request that your Mac sleep. You receive a personal license to use the app, not ownership of the app itself. Drift is provided as-is, and you are responsible for using it in a way that fits your setup.
License
Subject to these Terms, Drift grants you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to install and use Drift for your personal or internal business use.
You may not:
- copy, resell, sublicense, rent, lease, or distribute Drift
- reverse engineer, decompile, or attempt to extract Drift’s source code, except where the law allows it
- remove copyright, license, or ownership notices
- use Drift to violate the law or anyone else’s rights
- interfere with Drift’s licensing, activation, update, or security systems
Trial, Purchase, and Activation
Drift may offer a free trial. After the trial ends, continued use may require a paid license.
Payments, receipts, license delivery, billing, and customer portal access are handled by Lemon Squeezy. Your purchase may include a limited number of activations, as described at checkout or on the Drift website.
You are responsible for keeping your license key private. If you lose access to your key, contact support and we will do what we reasonably can to help.
Updates
Drift may provide updates, fixes, or improvements. Updates may change, add, or remove features. You are not required to install every update, but older versions may stop working correctly as macOS or Drift’s supporting services change.
macOS Permissions and System Behavior
Drift may ask macOS for permissions needed to provide its features, such as controlling volume, brightness, display behavior, or sleep behavior. You can deny or revoke permissions through macOS settings, but some features may stop working.
Drift requests system behavior from macOS; it cannot guarantee that your Mac will sleep, stay asleep, dim, or mute in every hardware, software, display, audio, or power-management configuration.
Privacy
Drift’s privacy practices are described in the Privacy Policy. By using Drift, you acknowledge that policy.
Support
Support is available at [email protected]. We try to respond helpfully, but Drift does not include guaranteed response times, uptime commitments, or custom development obligations.
Refunds
Refund requests are handled through Lemon Squeezy or Drift support. Any refund may depend on the payment processor’s policies, applicable law, and the circumstances of the request.
Ownership
Drift, including its software, design, branding, website, text, graphics, and other materials, is owned by the Drift developer or its licensors. These Terms do not transfer any ownership rights to you.
Feedback
If you send ideas, suggestions, bug reports, or other feedback, you allow Drift to use that feedback without restriction or compensation to you.
Third-Party Services
Drift may link to or rely on third-party services, including payment and billing services. Drift is not responsible for third-party services, their availability, or their terms.
Disclaimer
To the maximum extent allowed by law, Drift is provided “as is” and “as available”, without warranties of any kind, whether express, implied, or statutory. Drift does not warrant that the app or website will be uninterrupted, error-free, secure, compatible with every device, or fit for a particular purpose.
Some jurisdictions do not allow certain warranty exclusions, so parts of this section may not apply to you.
Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent allowed by law, Drift and its developer will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive damages, or for lost profits, lost data, lost business, device issues, or interruption of use.
To the maximum extent allowed by law, Drift’s total liability for any claim related to the app, website, or these Terms will not exceed the amount you paid for Drift in the twelve months before the claim.
Termination
You may stop using Drift at any time. Drift may suspend or terminate your license if you violate these Terms. After termination, you must stop using Drift and uninstall it from your devices.
Changes to These Terms
Drift may update these Terms from time to time. The updated Terms will be posted on this page with a new effective date. Continued use of Drift after an update means you accept the updated Terms.
